Blue Hills OLR (One Loft Race) is dedicated to the sport of pigeon racing, operating “For The Love Of Our Pigeons.”

We are committed to providing a top-tier racing environment focused on perfect health and condition for all competitors. The loft is set to accept a maximum of 400 babies for the inaugural 2025 intake, with a competitive race series, including a R50,000 Final Race, planned for 2026.

We believe in transparency and care, ensuring regular updates for fanciers and treating every brave bird with respect throughout the program. Our goal is to host a premier series of races that keeps losses to a minimum through professional, progressive training.

Entry and Birds

The intake period is from 1 August 2025 to 31 December 2025.

The entry fee is R1 800 per baby, which is all-inclusive.

Yes, for every 3 birds paid for, you may enter a 4th bird free of charge. The free bird has full racing and prize money rights.

The maximum intake for the first year will be 400 babies, on a first-come, first-served basis.

 All birds must have a valid Sanpo accredited 2025 ring.

Babies will be placed into quarantine lofts for their first 2 weeks and will be vaccinated.

Training and Racing (2026 Program)

 Training starts the 1st week of April 2026.

Birds will be well trained with progressive tosses to keep losses to a minimum.

There are 6 Hotspots and a Final Race between June 28, 2026, and September 20, 2026. (Specific dates and approximate distances are listed in the program table).

Yes, flying is subject to weather conditions, and Blue Hills OLR reserves sole decision-making rights.

Payouts and Results

Payouts are based on 400 paid entries. If less entries are received, payouts will be proportionately less.

 The 1st prize for Hotspots 1-6 is R10 000, 2nd is R5 000, and 3rd is R2 000.

The prize for the Final Race (3 Sisters) is R50 000 for 1st place, R8 000 for 2nd, and R4 000 for 3rd.

The Ace Pigeon is determined by the most points for the series based on the first 100 birds home. The prize for the Ace Pigeon winner is R20 000.

Race results and payouts will be published and sent to fanciers in the week after each race.

Post-Race Procedures

Yes, fanciers may buy their birds back for R500 per pigeon after the completion of the racing season.

Birds not re-purchased by owners within 10 days of the final race may be sold by BHOLR in any manner deemed fit, and the proceeds will be kept by BHOLR.
